Clicking charts
Pin a bar's figures, list the trades behind it and open them, on desktop and touch.
Every chart in Afterburner is a door to the trades behind it. Spot a bad bar, click it, and the trades that made it are right there, one click from their chart.
With a mouse
- 1
Hover
The tooltip gives the point's figures and its trade count, and a grey band lights the column under the pointer. When the point holds trades, a last line says Click to see trade (or trades). - 2
Click a point holding one trade
On the equity curve, the drawdown, the cumulative win rate, the duration scatter or a bar holding a single trade, the trade opens straight away in the trade dialog. - 3
Click a bar or a slice holding several
The tooltip freezes in place as a card, and the list of its trades opens beside it: Trade | Pair | Result, each row reading "Trade #45 · May 08, 2026", numbered in entry order within your filters. - 4
Open a trade from the list
The trade dialog opens over the card and the list. Close it and they are still there; the row you opened stays lit for a moment, like in the journal.
Click another bar to pin that one instead. A click anywhere else, or Esc, puts things away: the first Esc closes the list, the second the card.
On a phone or a tablet
- Tap a bar or a point: its card pins where the tooltip was, with a See trade or See trades button. See trades opens the list (tap it again to close the list).
- Slide along a curve. On a line chart, hold your finger still for a moment or slide sideways: the dot and the tooltip follow your finger along the curve while up-and-down still scrolls the page. Lift your finger to pin the card at that point.
- A resting finger does nothing. Scrolling past a chart never pops tooltips; only a deliberate tap does.
The trade dialog
A trade opened from a chart (or from the calendar, or from the AI) opens in a dialog over the page: its candle chart with entry and exit, its data, its tags (toggle them right there), and two buttons:
- Open the trade page (the zoom icon next to the close button): the full trade page.
- Show in list: closes the dialog and takes you to the journal, gliding to that trade's row.
Which charts open their trades
| Kind | Charts |
|---|---|
| One trade per point | Equity Curve (trade-by-trade view), Drawdown, Cumulative Win Rate, Duration vs Result, Rolling Sharpe (the last trade of the window). |
| A group of trades | Monthly Performance, Profit by Entry Day, Entry / Exit Hour Performance (its zoom too), Profit by Trading Session, Profit by Calendar Month, Expectancy by Pair, both By Timeframe charts, Long vs Short, Average Duration, the News charts and tiles, and your custom charts. |
| Not clickable | Equity over time, Drawdown Distribution, Days Between Setups, Breakeven Frontier, Monte Carlo. |
The calendar works its own way: click a pair pill to open that trade. The charts under each trade on its trade page behave exactly the same.
