Folders

File trades under Backtest, Live or any folders you create.

Folders are your journal's top-level drawers. Keep backtests apart from live trades, separate strategies, isolate prop-firm accounts, anything you like.

How folders behave

  • Every account starts with two : Backtest and Live. They are ordinary folders, rename or delete them freely.
  • A trade can live in several folders at once. The folder picker is a multi-select: tick as many as apply. A trade with no folder is simply unfiled.
  • Create anywhere. The picker appears in the New Trade form, in the Import dialog (to file a whole import at once) and on every trade page, always with a create option inline.
  • Rename and delete inline. Each folder row in the picker has rename and delete controls. Deleting a folder never deletes trades; they just leave the folder.
  • Filter by folder. The Folder chip in the filter bar scopes the whole app to one folder. It lists only folders that actually hold at least one trade.
  • Limits. Up to 50 folders, names up to 40 characters.

Folders vs tags

Folders answer "which book does this trade belong to?" (backtest vs live, strategy A vs B). Tags answer "what was true about this trade?" (setup type, mistake made, market regime). Use both: filter to a folder, then slice by tags.
