The live chart
Pairs, the live price tip, zooming, and what happens when markets close.
The chart is deliberately bare: one day of price, a live tip, and your news. Here is everything on it and every control around it.
The control strip
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Live clock | Ticks every second in your browser's timezone. All chart times use the same zone, so what you see matches your wall clock. |
| Pair picker | Every supported instrument, grouped (majors, crosses, metals, indices, energy, crypto). Switching pairs swaps the whole view instantly. |
| Live price + delta | The current price with the day's change, absolute and in percent, green or red by direction. |
| News counter | How many headlines are on the visible window; clicking it opens the news log. |
Chart behavior
- 1-day window. The curve shows the trailing day of 1-minute closes, with the oldest visible close acting as the baseline the day-change is measured from.
- Live tip. The last point advances about once a second, ahead of the per-minute bars, so the line moves like a terminal, not a screenshot.
- Zoom and pan. Scroll to zoom into any stretch; a Reset button appears while zoomed and snaps back to the full 1-day view.
- Market closed. On weekends and market halts the strip shows a closed badge and the chart freezes on the last trading day, keeping that day's news in place.
- No spinners. Loading states are calm blanks; the curve and its news fade in together once ready.
