Rafale
What is Rafale
The Chrome extension that backtests a discretionary edge inside TradingView.
Rafale is a Chrome extension that lives inside TradingView and teleports you from trade to trade, automatically. It makes backtesting a discretionary edge fast and, more importantly, honest.
The idea
Manual backtesting has two failure modes. It is slow (scrolling charts for hours), and it lies (you can see what happens next, so your "decisions" are graded with hindsight). Rafale kills both: it drives TradingView's replay to roll the chart back to each setup for you, and it keeps the outcome hidden until you commit. The result measures you, not your hindsight. A world first.
What you need
| Requirement | Why |
|---|---|
| Desktop Chrome | Rafale is a Chrome extension; its panel renders on the TradingView chart. |
| TradingView Essential plan or higher | Rafale drives TradingView's bar replay, which needs a paid TradingView plan. Note: Essential users cannot modify the backtest period (see the setup page). |
| A TradingView strategy | Any strategy works: one from the public library, or your own Pine Script. The strategy flags the candidate setups; your discretion judges them. |
| An Afterburner account | Rafale is included with Sky Priority and with the standalone plan. Members install it free from the Chrome Web Store. |
Installing and signing in
- 1
Add to Chrome
Open the Rafale page in the app and click Add to Chrome. Then open any TradingView chart: the panel appears on it. - 2
Sign in
The first thing you see is a lock screen. Sky Priority members click Continue with Discord (Rafale checks your membership of the Sky Priority server). Standalone subscribers sign in below it with their Afterburner email and password.
- Sessions last 7 days. After that, a quick re-login is asked, same policy as the web app.
- Membership rechecks itself at most once a day, silently, while you use the panel. Leaving the Discord server locks the extension again; a network hiccup never logs you out.
- Signing out manually : press and hold the minimize button (the
—in the panel header) for 5 seconds. A short click just collapses the panel.
Try it right now
